About EQ Ninjas

Emotional skills are hard to teach in the moment. Help your child practice first.

EQ Ninjas gives your child short, guided practice before emotions run high. Parent guides show you what your child is learning and how to help them use it at home.

The idea behind EQ Ninjas

The hard moment is the worst time to teach a new skill.

Most parents know what they want their child to do: notice what they feel, slow down, and choose a helpful response. But explaining all of that while emotions are high is hard.

EQ Ninjas lets your child learn while things are calm. Your child practices one skill at a time in the app and in a printable workbook. You can follow along without having to lead every lesson.

With regular practice, your child can get better at noticing what they feel, slowing down, and choosing what to do next.

Dr. Cory Cummings, founder of EQ Ninjas

Why Cory built it

“I wanted to teach my kids the skills I had to learn as an adult.”

Cory created EQ Ninjas after realizing he had never learned some of the emotional skills he wanted to teach his children. Learning those skills changed how he responded to his own emotions and how he helped his kids with theirs. EQ Ninjas grew from that experience and became part of his doctoral work on emotional intelligence.
